Construction Firm Faces More Than $1 Million in OSHA Penalties

Paramount Builders Ltd. has received $1,088,681 in proposed penalties plus citations alleging 21 workplace safety violations after two inspections at America Samoa worksites, the Labor Department said Thursday.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration allegedly found such hazards as failing to use guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems, according to the department, as well as failure to ensure workers use eye and face protections. Paramount was cited for nine serious, six willful, and six repeat serious violations.
