California could have a heat protection rule for indoor workers in place by the end of the summer if the state’s second try at the standard successfully moves quickly, according to state officials.
The latest version of the rule is scheduled for a June 20 vote by the state’s Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. If the board approves the rule and it passes a legal review, it could be enacted by late July or early August, Eric Berg, deputy chief of health for the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, said at a board meeting Thursday.
