A Texas mine operator is appealing a federal mine safety judge’s decision to uphold safety citations issued against the company for alleged service vehicle headlight and taillight violations.
Marble Falls, Texas-based Cactus Canyon Quarries Inc. filed a petition for review in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Feb. 11.
Cactus Canyon wants the court to reconsider a set of citations issued by the Mine Safety and Health Administration in January 2018 over alleged nonfunctioning brake lights on a service truck and for broken and missing headlights on others. The company was also fined $118.
