Rajkovich, whose nomination was announced Thursday, was first appointed by President Donald Trump in 2019 to the US Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission. That term expires Aug. 30.
If Rajkovich’s term ends before he is confirmed by the Senate, he wouldn’t be able to serve as one of the five commissioners until after confirmation. The Senate took one year to approve Trump’s nomination of Rajkovich.
