Amendments to Ontario Safety Law Gain Final Approval From Legislature

OTTAWA—The Ontario legislature approved amendments to strengthen the province’s health and safety system and increase protection for workers, Ontario Labour Minister Charles Sousa announced May 18.

The Ontario Legislative Assembly’s passage May 18 of Bill 160 clears the way for amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workplace Safety and Insurance Act to be implemented in response to the recommendations of an expert panel, Sousa said in a statement.
