Amazon Workers Withdraw Federal Lawsuit Over Covid-19 Protection

A group of Amazon.com Inc. warehouse workers have voluntarily withdrawn their federal lawsuit that had sought to use New York state laws to force the retailer to provide more protections for workers from Covid-19 infections.

The voluntary notice of dismissal was filed Friday with the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The lawsuit was brought in June 2020 before vaccinations became the primary protection from Covid-19.

The case had been remanded back to the district court in an Oct. 18 order from the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
