Use of artificial intelligence programs in the workplace safety context remains relatively untested despite widespread attention on AI’s impact in other areas of labor and employment law, attorneys said.
Federal and state agencies already are regulating AI practices for some employee-related tasks such as job application screenings, Lindsay DiSalvo, a partner with Conn Maciel Carey LLP in Washington, said Thursday.
However, AI applications for worker safety haven’t yet attracted federal regulators’ attention, DiSalvo said at an American Bar Association conference in San Juan, P.R.
