Zurn Pex Inc., Zurn Industries LLC, and plaintiffs who sued the two entities in 15 cases over leaky plumbing fittings received preliminary court approval Oct. 18 of a $20 million settlement in the Zurn Pex multidistrict litigation (Zurn Pex Products Liability Litigation, In re, D. Minn., No. 08-cv-01681).
The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota also granted preliminary and conditional certification of a settlement class consisting of owners of U.S. buildings that contain Zurn Pex F1807 yellow brass plumbing fittings, as well as insurance carriers that have already paid insurance claims for “[l]eaks or [o]cclusions.”
