Zoll Services LLC faces a jury trial against the family of a Florida woman who died from a heart attack allegedly caused by a defective LifeVest wearable defibrillator.
The LifeVest is made to detect life-threatening heart rhythms and automatically deliver a shock to restore normal rhythm for individuals at risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
A jury must resolve why the LifeVest failed to deliver a shock to Debra Godelia, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida said.
