Young Living Essential Oils LLC faces reinstated some false-ad claims in a proposed class suit over aromatherapy oils, after the Second Circuit said Tuesday that more information is needed to gauge consumer response to the challenged marketing phrases.
Lori MacNaughton alleged Young Living deceptively portrayed its products as “100% therapeutic-grade” and touted their supposed health benefits. For example, lavender oil was advertised to promote “feelings of relaxation & tranquility,” and the company said peppermint oil “helps to maintain energy levels,” she alleged.
