Woman Struck at Casino Wins Suit, But $1 Million Award Too Much

A New Orleans casino was properly held liable for injuries suffered when a woman was run over by a manlift on its premises, but the woman’s $1 million jury award for future pain and suffering was excessive, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit held Monday.
