Wesson Oil Deal Should be Scrapped, Say Objector, State AGs

A Wesson Oil class settlement that gives nearly $7 million to class counsel, while providing class members with just $1 million and injunctive relief “that has no meaningful value,” should be scrapped, some 13 state attorneys general told the Ninth Circuit.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich and others filed a friend-of-the-court brief supporting law professor M. Todd Henderson, who objected to the deal with Conagra Brands Inc. Henderson has appealed the settlement approval to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
