Wayfair Customer Must Arbitrate Claim Over Bedbugs in Headboard

A Wayfair Inc. customer who alleged the company sold him a bedbug-infested headboard has to individually arbitrate his claim.

Ronald Gorny and the online retailer had an enforceable contract that included an arbitration provision encompassing Gorny’s claims against Wayfair, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said June 7.

Gorny alleged he bought an upholstered headboard from Wayfair that was infested with many small insects that turned out to be bedbugs.

Wayfair said it’s unlikely the headboard became infested before it got to Gorny.
