Vortens Inc.'s settlement with a class of consumers over toilet tanks that allegedly crack and leak appears fair, a federal court in Texas said in giving the deal preliminary approval.
Steven Cone and other consumers sued Vortens and a related manufacturing business, Porcelana Corona de Mexico, SA. de C.V., over five models of tanks made over eight years. But the settlement applies to only two models, and only those units made in 2011, according to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
