Vape Shop Exits Customer’s Lawsuit Over E-Cig Battery Explosion

Sha Ent LLC, a retailer that allegedly sold a vaper an e-cigarette battery with inadequate explosion warnings, will escape a lawsuit before trial, because a change in Oklahoma law limited sellers’ liablity, a federal court in the state ruled.

A 2014 statute “only imposes a duty on a seller to pass on warnings,” Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti said Dec. 3 for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
