University of Kentucky Beats Basketball Fan’s Injury Suit

A University of Kentucky basketball fan injured while attending a game can’t pursue claims against the school after a Kentucky appeals court affirmed that UK is immune from suit.

In late 2013, Mark Saunier injured his knees when he fell on an electrical cable protector at the bottom of a flight of steps at Rupp Arena while attending a UK basketball game.

The university is immune from Mark Saunier’s suit as a state agency performing a governmental function, the Kentucky Court of Appeals said.
