Unilever Lawsuit Over Chemicals in TRESemmé Products Dismissed

Unilever US Inc. isn’t liable for fraudulently labeling TRESemmé hair products to allegedly hide the fact that they contain a formaldehyde-based chemical, a federal court in Illinois said.

Though the proposed class action was previously dismissed, the plaintiffs were given an opportunity to amend their complaint. But even the amended complaint failed to adequately allege fraud, unjust enrichment, or breach of warranty, the opinion by Judge Gary S. Feinerman of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Wednesday.
