Under Armour Sidesteps Case Over ‘Bioceramic’ Garments, for Now

Under Armour Inc. scored an early win Wednesday against antitrust and false advertising claims by a supplier of “bioceramic” powders used in fabrics that supposedly promote athletic recovery, but a federal judge in Pittsburgh said the lawsuit can be refiled with more detail.

“It is not clear from” allegations made by Multiple Energy Technologies LLC “that it competes directly with Under Armour” rather than at a different level of the supply chain, Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan wrote for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
