Tularosa Basin Keeps $3 Billion Nuclear Waste Disposal Award

National TRU Solutions LLC lost its protest of a US Department of Energy decision to award a nuclear waste disposal contract worth up to $3 billion to Tularosa Basin Range Services LLC.

National TRU failed to show that the department should have given its bid a “significant strength” rating in its technical evaluation of the experience of its proposed program manager, the Government Accountability Office said in a decision released Tuesday.

The DOE reasonably assigned the bid a “strength” because the individual only had four years of experience working in a similar position, the GAO said.
