Truck Maker Navistar Settles Suit Over Driver’s Rollover Death

Truck maker Navistar Inc. has resolved wrongful death claims filed by the estate of a truck driver killed in an accident in 2009, under a confidential settlement approved by the District of New Mexico.

Ruben Guerra Quinones was driving a International 9200i commercial truck made by Navistar when he lost control and the vehicle rolled over, according to the complaint. Guerra Quinones was wearing a seat belt, but the cab failed to protect him, the complaint alleged.

The estate alleged that the vehicle “violated several crashworthiness principles.”
