Toyota to Recall Prius Models on Door Latch Issue

Toyota Motor says it will recall ~211,000 of its 2023-2024 model year Prius vehicles in Japan, North America, Europe and Asia due to an issue with electronic rear door latches.

• Says possible for water to enter and cause short circuit in lock, meaning the door could open while moving on in a crash
  • 135,000 vehicles are in Japan and ~55,000 in US
• Also says it will partially resume operations at its Tsutsumi plant in Japan from Thurs., which has been halted for checks
