TotalEnergies Marketing Puerto Rico Corp. will resolve Clean Air Act violations by implementing $1.3 million in compliance measures at its petroleum storage facility in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, according to the Environmental Protection Agency Tuesday.
The violations include failure to use good air pollution control practices at petroleum storage tank, said the agency said.
Under the settlement, the company must replace parts of some tanks that are defective before using them further and improve monitoring, said the agency.
In addition to the compliance measures, the company will also pay a civil penalty of $500,000, said EPA.
