Tesla, Bendix Blamed for Severe Injuries in Robo-Truck Crash

Tesla Inc. and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC helped trucking company J.B. Hunt Transport Inc. customize a semi-trailer with automatic driving features that led to a gruesome guardrail crash, a former trucker alleges in a lawsuit now in federal court in Oklahoma.

Stephan White alleges that he was nearly cut in half by the rail—and that he lost a leg and had other serious injuries—when his truck skidded and toppled over in slushy conditions.
