Target Sued Over Undisclosed Heavy Metals in Prenatal Vitamins

Target Corp., Natural Organics Inc., and Schwabe North America Inc. fail to disclose the presence of heavy metals in prenatal vitamins, three proposed class actions in federal courts in California allege.

The new suits represent the latest consumer challenges over allegedly hidden heavy metals in food-related products or dietary supplements.

Target hid the presence or risk of arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury in its Up & Up brand products, Lauren Goodwin-Koenig alleges in a suit filed Feb. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
