Fujifilm Irvine Scientific Inc. was sued Thursday following a recall of oil used sued to store embryos to be implanted in in vitro fertilization patients.
The Orange County Superior Court product liability and negligence lawsuit claims embryos clients had stored were destroyed by defective Fujifilm Irvine Scientific-manufactured oil, “which turned out to be toxic to embryos.”
“Only after Plaintiffs’ embryos died upon coming into contact with Defendant’s defective oil did Irvine Scientific recall multiple lots of its oil, including a lot that ruined Plaintiffs’ embryos,” the lawsuit said.
