Sunoco Avoids Some New York Contamination Cost Recovery Claims

Sunoco (R&M) LLC and other related companies can avoid some of Honeywell International Inc.'s claims in its lawsuit seeking contribution for the costs of cleaning up in and around Onondaga Lake in New York, a federal court in the state ruled.

Onondaga Lake received industrial waste over the past 100 years containing metals, aromatics, and other substances that risk human health and the environment, the company told the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.
