Sunbeam Settles Lawsuit Over Child’s Death Blamed on Humidifier

Appliance maker Sunbeam Products Inc. and the parents of a child killed in a house fire have settled claims that a defective humidifier caused the blaze, according to a federal court in Minnesota.

A trial in the case was set for Nov. 9. The court didn’t provide the terms of the settlement in a docket notice, and attorneys for the parties didn’t respond Tuesday to requests for information or comment.
