Suit Against Riddell Over Suicide Timely, Footballer’s Mom Says

A Texas woman who alleges repeated concussions her son sustained playing high school football led to his suicide told the Northern District of Texas that her wrongful death claims against helmet maker Riddell Inc. are timely because of an earlier-filed class action.

Letitia Wilbourn sued Riddell and parent company BRG Sports Inc. on March 31, 2019—more than two years after the death of her son DuQuan Myers on Feb. 17, 2017.
