Sue Bee Buyers Win Class Status in Suit Over Glyphosate in Honey

California Sue Bee honey consumers convinced a federal trial court to grant class status in their suit alleging the Sioux Honey Association Cooperative deceptively markets its honey products as “pure” when they contained traces of the weedkiller glyphosate.

Susan Tran alleged she bought the honey products based on labeling statements touting them as “Pure” or “100% Pure.”

She sought an order declaring Sioux Honey’s conduct violated California consumer protection laws, and an injunction requiring removal of the “Pure” terms from the labels.
