Strawberries Exaggerated in Strawberry Pop Tarts, Suit Says (1)

Kellogg Sales Co.'s Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts aren’t flavored only with strawberries, despite their name and packaging that depicts a toaster pastry brimming with bright red filling, a new would-be class suit in a New York federal court says.

The label gives the misleading impression that the pop tarts contain strawberries as the sole fruit filling, New Yorker Kelvin Brown alleges in a suit filed Sept. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

But the pop tarts are made with dried strawberry, dried pear, and dried apple, the suit alleges.
