Stonefire Naan bread consumers got an Illinois federal court’s tentative nod for a $1.9 million nationwide class settlement resolving allegations that FGF Brands Inc. fooled them into thinking the mass-produced breads are hand-baked in traditional tandoor ovens.
The deal, which provides class members $2.50 for each product purchased, was preliminarily approved Thursday by Judge Robert W. Gettleman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, according to a docket order.
