Stanley Hit With False-Ad Suit Over Lead in Popular Tumblers

California consumers have brought a proposed class action against Pacific Market International LLC, the parent company of the wildly popular Stanley cup brand, after the company confirmed the sealing material used for its vacuum insulation includes lead.

“PMI knew its products were manufactured using a toxic compound and failed to notify consumers of this fact or the fact that, if damaged, Stanley products could expose consumers to toxic lead,” the plaintiffs say in their complaint filed Feb. 1 in Los Angeles Superior Court.
