Silversea Cruises Side-Steps Passenger’s Broken Leg Lawsuit

A cruise ship tourist took too long to sue Silversea Cruises Ltd. over his broken leg and a surgical procedure that allegedly worsened it, a federal appeals court ruled.

The terms of James Baer’s ticket explicitly warned that passengers waive any claims against the cruise line unless they give written notice of any injury and file a lawsuit more than one year after an incident, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said Oct. 19.
