Sig Sauer Gets N.H. Consumer Law Win in Accidental Shooting Suit

Sig Sauer Inc. won a complete trial victory in a New Hampshire man’s suit alleging his P320 pistol accidentally discharged, as a federal court said he didn’t prove the gunmaker had the requisite knowledge to establish a violation of the state’s consumer protection law.

Kyle Guay returned home from walking his dogs one evening in January 2020 and started to remove his holster, which held the gun, from his belt. The gun suddenly fired, shooting Guay in his right thigh even though he didn’t pull the trigger, the US District Court for the District of New Hampshire said.
