Sherwin-Williams, Others Owe $6 Million for Lead Poisoning

The Sherwin-Williams Co., E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., and Armstrong Containers Inc. are responsible for lead poisoning in three Wisconsin men and must collectively pay $2 million to each of them, a federal jury found.

But the jury determined that Atlantic Richfield Co., which also went to trial in the consolidated cases, wasn’t negligent and didn’t provide inadequate warnings, according to the docket of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The May 31 verdicts in favor of Glenn Burton Jr., Ravon Owens, and Cesar Sifuentes came after a four-week trial overseen by Judge Lynn Adelman. ...
