Sherwin-Williams on Hook for $1.75 Million Lead Paint Verdict

Sherwin-Williams Co. failed to shake its $1.75 million share of a $6 million verdict in a lead paint case, as a federal court in Wisconsin said evidence supported the award to three men alleging they were poisoned as children by lead-based paint in their homes.

Last year, a jury awarded $2 million to each plaintiff against Sherwin-Williams Co., E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co., and Armstrong Containers Inc.

Rather than proceed with the second phase of the trial, the plaintiffs and the three liable defendants elected to allocate 12.5% of the responsibility to National Lead, another company, and the remainder ...
