Proposed consumer class actions against Elanco Animal Health Inc. and Bayer LLC over Seresto pet collars will be combined in the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said Wednesday.
Pet owners allege Seresto flea and tick collars are deceptively portrayed as safe even though they contain toxins that can cause dogs and cats severe harm and even death.
Elanco manufactures the collars and is the primary defendant. Bayer, which manufactured Seresto collars before its animal health division was acquired by Elanco, is also named as a defendant.
