Sanofi Exits Some Taxotere Suits, More Dismissals Expected

Sanofi-Aventis US LLC won dismissal of some Louisiana Taxotere hair loss cases, and plaintiffs have until later this month to identify cases from other states that also should be removed from the litigation filed by patients who took the cancer drug before December 2006, a federal court said.

More than 12,000 suits are pending in multidistrict proceedings in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana alleging Sanofi filed to warn the cancer drug can cause permanent hair loss.
