Sandals Resorts International Ltd. is off the hook on claims it is liable for a Connecticut man’s serious injuries suffered at his daughter’s wedding, a federal court ruled.
The Feb. 19 decision is the latest rejecting tort claims against popular Caribbean resorts for lack of jurisdiction. A federal court in Tennessee threw out a woman’s injury suit in December 2018 where a Cancun resort had no connections to the state.
Here, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted a dismissal to Jamaica-based Sandals.
