Samsung Gets Claims Narrowed in Galaxy Picture Quality Suit

Samsung Electronics America Inc. got some consumer protection law and fraud claims trimmed from a proposed class suit alleging it misleads consumers about the screen quality of high-resolution phones and tablets, as a federal court in New York said they were untimely.

Samsung overstates the pixel count of more than 25 phone and tablet models with high-resolution, or “pentile” screens, including the Galaxy A8, A8+, and A9 phones, according to the December 2018 suit by New Yorker Wai Kuen Chu, Californian Donny Vallejo, and Pennsylvanian Richard Lee.
