RTX Must Fix Numerous Flawed Jet Engine Parts in Costly Recall

Numerous components in RTX Corp.’s marquee commercial jet engine are at risk of premature failure and must be replaced as part of the company’s costly recall tied to parts made with tainted metal powder, according to US aviation safety regulators.

Investigation into the issue found a higher risk of flaws “for all powder metal parts in certain powder metal production campaigns, which are susceptible to failure significantly earlier than previously determined,” the US Federal Aviation Administration said.
