High-profile plaintiffs’ attorney W. Mark Lanier has jumped into a fight over allegedly defective Remington rifles, according to an appeals court docket.
The battle has continued even after Remington Arms Co. settled with a gun owner representing a nationwide class.
Two objectors want to scuttle the class-action deal with Remington to replace a trigger mechanism allegedly prone to accidental discharge. Notice of the settlement to rifle owners isn’t adequate and will result in 7.4 million rifles continuing to “pose a deadly danger,” objectors Lewis M. Frost and Richard L. Denney told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. ...
