Premium Cigar Makers Get FDA Health Warnings Overturned (1)

Premium cigar brands like Cohiba and Arturo Fuente won’t sport large, prominently placed warnings on their packaging anytime soon, after a federal court in the District of Columbia threw out key FDA regulations Monday set to cover the hand-rolled products.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration didn’t provide a reasonable explanation when it subjected premium cigars to the same warning requirements as mass-market cigars despite industry arguments that they should be treated differently, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said.
