Power King Trailer-Tire Class Didn’t Show Defect, Court Says

Retailer TBC Corp. and distributor Dynamic Tire Corp. have stopped statewide class claims over allegedly defective Power King trailer tires.

Florida class representative Nestor Diaz’s expert evidence didn’t demonstrate the Power King Towmax STR trailer tires, designed in China by Shandong Hengfeng, were defective, the U.S. Court for the Central District of California said Jan. 29.

Diaz and plaintiffs seeking to represent consumers in other states alleged their tires were prone to tread separation, which can be dangerous. The STR tires failed at a high rate, they said.
