Porsche Cheated on Emissions in Gas-Powered Cars, Suit Says (2)

Porsche AG and related companies manipulated emissions hardware and software on more than 500,000 powerful gas-powered sports cars in the U.S. in an attempt to make them appear environmentally friendly, a proposed class suit filed Monday alleges.

Porsche, owned by Volkswagen AG, was involved in the massive VW diesel-cheating scandal. VW is also a defendant here.

Porsche 911 and Panamera cars from eight model years, 2008–2016, have software that reduces or turns off emissions controls while they’re being driven, according to the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
