Polaris, U.S. Settle Claims That Vehicle Sparked Forest Fire (1)

Polaris Industries Inc. has entered into a settlement with the U.S. government over the costs of fighting a fire in the San Bernardino National Forest that was allegedly started by a defective Polaris off-road vehicle, according to a filing in federal court in California.

The terms of the settlement weren’t disclosed. The government has said it spent about $11.6 million to suppress the fire and rehabilitate the park.
