Pasta Maker Agrees to $7.9M Accord To Resolve Suit Contesting Pro-health Labels

The maker of Dreamfields pasta will pay $5 million and change its product labeling to resolve a consumer class suit challenging health representations on the pasta products, according to an April 14 filing in the U.S. District for the District of New Jersey (Mirakay v. Dakota Growers Pasta Co., D.N.J., No. 13-04429).

Separately, Dakota Growers Pasta Co. has agreed to pay $2.9 million in attorneys’ fees and expenses, the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary settlement approval says.
