Par Pharmaceuticals Inc. can’t be sued for failure to provide a required patient medication guide for the generic cardiac drug amiodarone, a federal court in Alabama said, dismissing a wrongful death suit brought by his estate.
Mal M. Moore died allegedly from side effects of amiodarone prescribed for the off-label treatment of his non-life threatening arrhythmia, although it wasn’t specifically approved for that purpose, Moore’s daughter Heather Moore Cook alleged.
