A California woman may pursue would-be consumer class claims challenging weight loss representations on the label of a “diet tea” that allegedly contains a potentially dangerous laxative, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California said May 15 (Augustine v. Natrol Products, Inc., S.D. Cal., No. 13-3129).
Jessica Augustine contended she bought Laci Le Beau Super Dieter’s Tea, made by Natrol Products Inc., because of the beneficial weight loss effects promised on its labeling and advertising.
