N.J. Top Court Weighs Expert Standards in Accutane Case

New Jersey’s top court peppered attorneys on both sides of an Accutane case with questions about the differences between the state and federal rules for when experts may testify in toxic tort cases, and what would happen if it adopted the federal standards.

The issue before the court April 23 was whether testimony from plaintiffs’ experts should be admitted in suits alleging a link between Hoffmann-LaRoche Inc.'s acne drug and inflammatory bowel disease.
